Ariadne is meant to be a flexible, stable tool for analyzing performance traces.

Different tracks visualize different elements of the system under test. For example, there are tracks for process and thread scheduling, file system IO, etc.

Custom signposts can be imported with property list or JSON files.

Ariadne can open .artrace, .tailspin, .ktrace, and .argrouptrace files.

The software, along with its icon, is likely based on the mythological princess; Ariadne's thread is given to Theseus to find his way through the labyrinth.
