The iPod touch 5G is available in two variants.
- The 32/64 GB model (A1421) has a rear camera.
- The 16 GB model (A1509) omits a rear camera.
Hardware differences between the two are almost non-existant (i.e. they're almost identical). The name used in firmware is iPod5,1.
Application Processor
The iPod touch 5G makes use of the S5L8942 application processor.

The BCM4334 is used for Wi-Fi (802.11 a/b/g/n) and Bluetooth 4.0.
