The iPad mini 3 was announced on October 16, 2014. It includes Touch ID, and is the successor to the iPad mini 2.

The iPad mini 3 makes use of the Apple A7.

There are three variants:

Display: 7.9" 2048x1536 LED-backlit IPS display at 326 ppi (Retina Display)
Size: 7.87 inches (200 mm) (height) x 5.3 inches (134.7 mm) (width) x 0.29 inch (7.5 mm) (depth)
Color: Black & Space Gray, White & Silver or White & Gold
Battery: Up to 10 hours of surfing the web on Wi‑Fi, watching video, or listening to music, Up to 9 hours of surfing the web using cellular data network
Weight: 0.73 pounds (331 g) Wi-Fi model; 0.75 pounds (341 g) iPad4,8 and iPad4,9 models
