iOS is the new name for iPhone OS which was introduced at the 2010 WWDC with the release of iOS 4. This name will now be the official name for the operating system on [[iPhone]], [[iPod Touch]] and [[iPad]] devices for software version 4.0 Golden Master Seed and higher including the final release on June 21st 2010. It brings many new features to light including support for the [[iPhone 4]]'s Gyro sensor as well as the much welcomed multitasking etc. Apart from that there are no differences between the terms iPhone OS and iOS apart from the fact that iPod Touch and iPad owners are no longer glossed over.
