Summary
The iPhone 5 Screening Tool is an application available both to GSX (Apple Global Service Exchange), and Apple Employees. This app was used for hardware quality testing of iPhones. According to official documentation it should only be used for the iPhone 5 Sleep/Wake Button Replacement Program, but does feature a variety of other tests. The Screening Tool was used to record the cosmetic and functional condition of the iPhone prior to repair. iOS 7.1 or later is required.
