"Virgin" is included to denote the fact that the particular device/firmware combination can be jailbroken, even if it never was jailbroken before. This was done to help eliminate confusion (in case one mistook a non-red cell as being capable of jailbreaking) and clutter (there used to be quite a few footnotes). Firmware rollback explanation
I feel I should mention why "virgin" is mentioned on the page Firmware. "Virgin" is included to denote the fact that the particular device/firmware combination can be jailbroken, even if it never was jailbroken before. This was done to help eliminate confusion (in case one mistook a non-red cell as being capable of jailbreaking) and clutter (there used to be quite a few footnotes).
