+ | Hey there, I have an interesting quandary. So, I decrypted the Root FS dmg from the 8J2 IPSW. Then, I googled how to make the DMG read/write, which I did. So now, (after making a duplicate of the read/write, just in case) I have an 8J2 Root FS without several core apps, and an edited [[/etc/fstab]] (just because). My question is, is it safe to put this new Root FS IPSW onto my iPhone? I'll make a backup/xbackup (jailbreak apps) of everything, for obvious reasons. I just really want to try this out, to see what it does, and how it works. Thanks!! --[[User:Rdqronos|rdqronos]] 22:43, 22 May 2011 (UTC) |

Editing the Root FS
Hey there, I have an interesting quandary. So, I decrypted the Root FS dmg from the 8J2 IPSW. Then, I googled how to make the DMG read/write, which I did. So now, (after making a duplicate of the read/write, just in case) I have an 8J2 Root FS without several core apps, and an edited /etc/fstab (just because). My question is, is it safe to put this new Root FS IPSW onto my iPhone? I'll make a backup/xbackup (jailbreak apps) of everything, for obvious reasons. I just really want to try this out, to see what it does, and how it works. Thanks!! --rdqronos 22:43, 22 May 2011 (UTC)
