Should they really be on the timeline? They shouldn't be treated as main event, but could include leaks in the actual articles of what was leaked. Just a thought. --[[User:JacobVengeance|JakeAnthraX]] 23:54, 6 July 2011 (UTC) |

:We have no differentiation between "main" and "other" events; it's a pure timeline. If you think this page should only list the "main" events, then a lot other things should go away as well. I think this page should list everything, just from a timeline view and without judging its importance. Other opinions? --[[User:Http|http]] 00:03, 7 July 2011 (UTC) |

This timeline was written from my perspective about notable events I remember. Feel free to edit and add

I think theres some stuff here that isn't important enough. Like QuickPwn and dual-boot. ~geohot
Define 'timeline' !? ;-) -caique2001-
Dual-boot
Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but from my recollection, the concept of dual-booting (as a possible exploit) pretty much naturally arose in the dev channel and cannot be attributed to a single person. However, we were only able to work around the check_for_suspicious_partitions routine in restored with some brilliant work by bgm, who solved the problem half an hour after I introduced him to it. We were then able to jailbreak 1.1.3, although we probably never released that particular method publicly since we believed that the soft-upgrade was sufficient. --Planetbeing 06:33, 20 August 2008 (UTC)
Revisions needed
references to iAsign, iNdependence, sam+daeken bruteforce. Software 3.9 NORdump. TA_Mobile 4.6 NORdump. 4.6 GPIO block unlock.
@geohot
QuickPwn has more to it than you may think. For instance, it is the first public tool to not require iBoot / iBEC / iBSS / and friends to have .patch files, it will automatically do a byte search and take care of it all.
Leaks
Should they really be on the timeline? They shouldn't be treated as main event, but could include leaks in the actual articles of what was leaked. Just a thought. --JakeAnthraX 23:54, 6 July 2011 (UTC)

Later same day

Geeksn0w
Geeksn0w is now becoming a popular jailbreak. Although it only supports iPhone 4 due to the limera1n exploit, it is now becoming a semi-tethered jailbreak. I think we should include the dates of Geeksn0w releases on this timeline. What do you guys think? — Spydar007 (Talk) 15:57, 23 April 2014 (UTC)
