'''v0rtex''' is an IOSurface exploit for iOS 10.x, created by Siguza. The UAF bug was first posted by [https://twitter.com/windknown windknown] of the Pangu Team which had stated the bug being patched in iOS 11.2. Ian Beer had taken this into his own hands and later developed his exploit of the bug called async_wake which exploited iOS 11.0-11.1.2. Later on, Siguza had taken consideration of the exploit to then later port it to iOS 10, thus giving life to '''v0rtex'''.
'''v0rtex''' is a software exploitation of an IOSurface vulnerability present from iOS 10.0 through iOS 11.1.2, discovered by white-hat hacker Ian Beer of the Google Zero project. It was written by Siguza and covers all versions of iOS 10, whereas Beer’s own async_wake exploit covers 11.0-11.1.2.

The v0rtex exploit proved to be suitable for jailbreaks, and powers two jailbreak projects: [[Saïgon]] (ARM64), where it replaced the ziVa exploit, and [[h3lix]] (ARMv7s). iOS 10.3.3 is the final version for all A6 devices, and also an OTA signed version for some A7 devices, making both jailbreaks extra relevant.
