Not sure how this has been worked out in the past, but the codename for 6.1 beta 5 is Brighton, unlike the previous four betas, BrightonVail. I've added the AES keys for all the A4 devices on the pages with BrightonVail as someone already added links to it on the main page. VFDecrypt
When someone adds a build here and posts a key for VFDecrypt on it, can they add that key to the VFDecrypt Keys section? --Balloonhead66 18:19, 24 October 2010 (UTC)

version wrong?
For 3GS firmware 4.2GM the baseband doesn't match the value here: X-Gold_608#Known_Firmware_Versions. So one of these must be wrong. --http 08:12, 13 November 2010 (UTC)
liamchat baseband edit
Hi liamchat! You just added 4.2.1GM beta rows. Thanks. Where do you have the baseband infos from? Did you install it on all devices or where does this info come from? Are you 100% sure the baseband versions are correct you added? --http 22:05, 18 November 2010 (UTC)
- no sorry i copied the 4.2gm table lines to help me add it faster however once i have finished downloading it i will check --liamchat 22:12, 18 November 2010 (UTC)
- Ok, but please don't add unproven / possibly wrong information. There's no race to be the first to add the 4.2.1GM release. And please replace the ones you don't test with a question mark or something similar. --http 22:15, 18 November 2010 (UTC)
- Well, GreySyntax did confirm on Twitter that the 4.2.1 GM release for the iPhone 4 has 3.10.01. I'm almost willing to bet that the iPhone 3G/3GS baseband is still 5.15.04, but it still hasn't been confirmed yet. --Dialexio 22:21, 18 November 2010 (UTC)
- I also saw that. But it was added for all devices and I think you should only add what you really know. That's why I initially added lots of empty fields instead of assuming something. I agree that it's probably correct. --http 22:38, 18 November 2010 (UTC)

SHA1 Hashes
I'm not completely happy on the idea of having SHA1 hashes for beta firmwares. I do see it as useful if you need to verify the firmware, but I don't think it's necessary. The firmwares should have been downloaded from Apple by developers/hackers, not the Average Joe jailbreaker. I feel that the inclusion of SHA1 hashes is just to assist people in pirating the beta firmwares; that's the only reason I can think of that would make people want to verify their IPSW. Thoughts? --Dialexio 17:00, 26 December 2010 (UTC)
- I think they should be removed as they help idiots pirate the software... --Balloonhead66 18:43, 26 December 2010 (UTC)
What is iProd2,1?
I was digging around the build manifest of the Apple TV 5.0/4.4b1 and found this:
<key>SupportedProductTypes</key> <array> <string>iProd2,1</string> <string>AppleTV2,1</string> </array> </dict> </plist>
What is iProd2,1? --Balloonhead66 17:55, 7 June 2011 (UTC)
- "iProd" is a moniker Apple used for internal prototypes. "iProd1,1" was the iPad, and "iProd2,1" was the Apple TV 2G. --Dialexio 19:24, 7 June 2011 (UTC)
- Ok, Thanks! --Balloonhead66 19:39, 7 June 2011 (UTC)
iPhone 3GS and iPad
How come the IPSWs for the iPad and iPhone 3GS, they don't have a bb file like the others do? --Balloonhead66 23:53, 11 July 2011 (UTC)
- The baseband files for the X-Gold 608 are tucked inside of the ramdisks. The X-Gold 618 and MDM6600 baseband files are outside of the ramdisks since they require SHSH-like signatures. --Dialexio 17:13, 12 July 2011 (UTC)
- So we need a Resotre Ramdisk IV and Key to get at them (or install) --Balloonhead66 17:17, 12 July 2011 (UTC)
Download URL's
Could we add the download URIs for each of these. As long as they are on Apple's server, it will deny you access if you try to do it without the $99. It will go Unauthorized with a free account or download it for paid accounts --Balloonhead66 16:34, 16 July 2011 (MDT)
OTA Updates
Here is something interesting I found in the XML File:
<plist version="1.0"> <dict> <key>Assets</key> <array> <dict> <key>Build</key> <string>9A5332</string>
So, what is 9A5332? --Balloonhead66 20:51, 13 October 2011 (MDT)
- I downloaded the asset file and in the BuildManifest.plist, at the bottom, it says 9A332 for the iPhone 3GS... I am assuming 9A5332 and 9A332 are the same. So is this an internal beta? --Balloonhead66 23:02, 13 October 2011 (MDT)
- I was just looking into it, too :) I can't download it right now, my connection is slow. Can you find the SystemVersion.plist and see what is the ReleaseType value? --pjakuszew 06:07, 14 October 2011 (MDT)
- You just enter {plist}{dict}(assets){dict}(__BaseURL) followed by {plist}{dict}(assets){dict}(__RelativePath) into your browser...
- The /System/Library/CoreServices/SystemVersion.plist is located under
\AssetData\payload\patches\System\Library\CoreServices\
and is a DIFF like all the other files under\AssetData\payload\patches\
. I am guessing if you hav 5.0b7 for the iPhone 3GS, you could do it... I'll do it right now --Balloonhead66 07:07, 14 October 2011 (MDT) - As this is a patch (diff) file, I can't work with it though. I can email you it or upload it to mega or something... --Balloonhead66 07:54, 14 October 2011 (MDT)
- I know how to download it, I have played with OTA updates in beta period, the problem is that I'm on a very slow CDMA connection right now. Maybe I'll be able to download it tommorow. But since you say that SystemVersion.plist is just patched in this update, instead of being replaced like in earlier updates, this build seems to be a public variant... Even the index file does not specify ReleaseType (in beta period they used to do that), so we can assume this is just an unreleased beta which was a candidate for a GM release --pjakuszew 08:15, 14 October 2011 (MDT)
- Yah, it is called
SystemVersion.plist.patch
. I tried using GNU patch, but I couldn't figure it out. A GM? That makes sense... --Balloonhead66 15:34, 14 October 2011 (MDT)
