Haywire seems to be the codename for the video adapters available for the Lightning Connector.
There are two devices listed in /System/Library/PreinstalledAssets/com_apple_MobileAsset_MobileAccessoryUpdate_haywire.xml

Both use an ApChipID=0x8747 which suggests the S5L8747 processor and use iBoot-1537.9.55~3.
Currently it is not clear what these two devices are. One of them is known to be the Lightning Digital AV Adapter. The other is probably the Lightning to VGA Adapter. The Lightning to 30-pin Adapter has nothing to do with Haywire, as it does not support video output, respectively because it does not do dynamic firmware upload.
