The T1 chip was an ARM processor introduced with the 2016 MacBook with Touch Bar. Unlike the T2 it does not provide Secure Boot to the main operating system. The T1 did not have NAND memory and ran a variant of watchOS by using a personalized Ramdisk from the EFI system partition that was loaded to the device on boot.
