This is a new page to summarize bluetooth across all iphone/ipod models. this page is by no means complete yet. please feel free to add, chop and change! --The preceding unsigned comment was added by Schmave (talk) 14 July 2009. Comments from the deleted page: (http 23:45, 26 November 2010 (UTC))

  • Disabling BTServer seems to render GUI really irresponsive.
  • There is a '/etc/bluetooth/pcm-example.script' script that does not seem to be relevant to the iPhone as it uses COM1. I am not much familiar with Mac OSX but I would not think there is such a thing on a Mac (COM port) I though they called it Serial ;P
  • To verify that the other 2 /etc/blutooth scripts were really used. I killed BTServer and listed processes right away. I am able to be quick enough to catch BTServer spawning BlueTool with one or the other script.
  • Right now, whenever I attempt talking to the chip I get a bus error. I am not sure what sequence of operation leads to such state. I tried from rebooting... but with same result.

Don't remove competitor's links

That's not nice to remove a competitor's link : the ibluetoothproject and chage it's own description to something awesome. BTW the ibluetoothproject did release a proof of concept and they plan to release for free and open source while you plan to do something proprietary and ask for money.

Proposition

Becuase Apple have changed chip suppliers since the iPhone3GS, iPod Touch 2G I recommend we change this page from a hackers log to a landing page that takes you to each ipod/iphone model and chip specific information for each of them. does this sound good?

Bluetooth iPhone2,1

there is some (however outdated) info from the original iphone that should be moved.. this page needs major reconstruction as well...
