Note on tracking location
From reversing, all it appears to be using the location for is adding it to the overall device report that may be exported for sending to engineers. I figure it may be somewhat useful for engineers at some point to know where this report is coming from. It doesn't appear to be contacting an external server and reporting your location to Apple. --Haifisch (talk) 02:43, 14 April 2015 (UTC)
Video about this internal software
It is okay and safe from troubles to add this video made by me https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qBg86dZD-SM in a «See also» section at the bottom of PurpleSNIFF dedicated page ? --ShadowLee19 (talk)
- I don't see anything wrong with that, at least with the wiki's current rules. (Everyone, before you rush to add screencasts, keep in mind that not every software page needs or should have a screencast— we don't need a video showing off iTunes, for instance. And don't use this as an opportunity to advertise your YouTube channel or something.) Do note that I think it's possible for Apple to send a takedown request to YouTube, but I kinda doubt that would happen, considering the age of the video. --Dialexio (talk) 15:19, 25 July 2015 (UTC)
