The Apple TV (4th generation) starts at $149 for 32GB of storage, and $199 for 64GB. It has 2GB RAM and its firmware identifier is AppleTV5,3. Unlike the previous generation of Apple TVs, developers are able to write native apps for the set-top-box operating system derived from iOS 9, known as tvOS.

The Apple TV (4th generation) was announced on 9th September 2015 and released on 26th October 2015 in select markets.
