Talk:Beta Firmware/iPhone 4
Hey, I upgraded to an iOS 5 beta (with the 4.11.06 baseband.) I then tried to downgrade to 4.3.3, getting an error 1 each time. I am able to kick the device out of recovery mode with fixrecovery, but then I see I still have the iOS 5 baseband, as a pose to 4.10.01. I have my SHSH saved for 4.3.3. Should I do a downgrade to the latest available firmware (at the time of writing 4.3.5) and then downgrade to 4.3.3, so that I get my nice iOS 4 baseband back? Thanks!! --rdqronos 06:14, 30 July 2011 (MDT)
- Yes, for iPhone 4, baseband downgrade works, but only if Apple signs it. So install an unmodified, stock 4.3.5 to get your baseband downgraded. 4.3.3 has the same baseband, so it should work too, but the problem is that during restore you have to replay the 4.3.3 shsh from your cache and basebsnd shsh from Apple. TinyUmbrella doesn't support that yet (afaik) - or maybe it does with the new baseband switch. So I'd use 4.3.5 and clean your hosts file and retry. Later downgrade to 4.3.3 with TSS. --http 13:59, 30 July 2011 (MDT)
- Ahhhh thank you very much. That's helpful to know. --rdqronos 15:43, 30 July 2011 (MDT)
