The Apple TV HD, previously known as Apple TV (4th generation), starts at $149 for 32GB of storage, and $199 for 64GB. It has 2GB RAM and its firmware identifier is AppleTV5,3. Unlike the previous generation of Apple TVs, developers are able to write native apps for the set-top-box operating system derived from iOS 9, known as tvOS.
The Apple TV HD was announced on 9 September 2015 and released on 26 October 2015 in select markets.
