| + | : There is a Local Authentication framework that got introduced in iOS 8, and yes, I do believe that the Touch ID is tied with your SEP in such a way that if you replaced with and didn't re-pair the replacement with your phone's SEP it will not boot. - There is a Local Authentication framework that got introduced in iOS 8, and yes, I do believe that the Touch ID is tied with your SEP in such a way that if you replaced with and didn't re-pair the replacement with your phone's SEP it will not boot.
