Err, isn't there a non-private framework? There's a lot of apps using Touch ID now. Also, is it true that replacing Touch ID on iPhone 6 will make the whole device bricked? --Rzhikharevich (talk) 19:34, 27 March 2015 (UTC)
- 1) There is a Local Authentication framework that got introduced in iOS 8, but the BiometricKit is still private IIRC. 2) Yes, I do believe that the Touch ID is tied with your phone's SEP in such a way that if you replaced with and didn't "re-pair" the replacement with your phone it will not boot.
