Err, isn't there a non-private framework? There's a lot of apps using Touch ID now. Also, is it true that replacing Touch ID on iPhone 6 will make the whole device bricked? --Rzhikharevich (talk) 19:34, 27 March 2015 (UTC)
- There is a Local Authentication framework that got introduced in iOS 8, and yes, I do believe that the Touch ID is tied with your SEP in such a way that if you replaced with and didn't re-pair the replacement with your phone's SEP it will not boot.
