Change display names here / discussion about using User:xx or xx directly
Is there a way to change the name of those User: prefixes? -- http 10:03, 15 July 2010 (UTC)
- It appears that prefixes can be created by administrators. --Dialexio 22:26, 16 July 2010 (UTC)
- Hmm. I didn't want to change the prefix as such. I just wanted to change how these users appear in this category list. For example if all had accounts here, then all would appear under the letter "U" (because they start with "User:"). Right now it's even mixed, planetbeing is under "U", but Comex under "C". And some others should have different case or otherwise some small changes how they appear in this list. Maybe there is an option to set on the respective page how they appear in category pages? And something else: I would prefer to have all these people with their own page (not the User:xx one). We could put a redirect on their User:xx page instead. Right now you decided to put it the other way round. But this results in this mixed list. Also all references have to be written like this then: "geohot" instead of simply geohot. Also a simple Go in the search box for these names won't work now (will do a search and probably find them though). I think we should change that back and put planetbeing, geohot, Musclenerd and Westbaer to their xx page (instead of User:xx). What do you think? -- http 22:48, 16 July 2010 (UTC)
- Didn't notice this until now. :\ My thought is, if the person is a user here, their user page should contain the info about them. I just tested it out, and typing "Geohot" into the search box and hitting "Go" redirects to "User:Geohot" without a hitch. :) --Dialexio 03:09, 26 July 2010 (UTC)

Wiki-Problem
Also I wanted to place a link on "exploits" pointing to Category:Exploits, but this disappears (at least in preview mode), so I didn't save. Any ideas? -- http 10:03, 15 July 2010 (UTC)
- Redirects don't show in previews. Just created the page. --Dialexio 22:26, 16 July 2010 (UTC)
- Hmm. I meant something different. I wanted to put a link on the title, like this: "...finding new or being..." but in Preview it just disappeared. But with the new redirect it should work. Maybe a bug in this Wiki. -- http 22:48, 16 July 2010 (UTC)
- Found the problem. If the link contains a colon, you have to prefix the link with a colon. --http 18:12, 4 January 2011 (UTC)
- Partly wrong, to link to an article at the root, you use
:(Article name)
. For example/Applications
will link toCategory talk:Hackers/Applications
.:/Applications
will like to the actual /Applications article. Also, to add a category you use a plain link and to link, you use the colon. Took me a while to figure that one out... --5urd 19:29, 4 January 2011 (UTC)

Zibri
I just included Zibri as well. He is or was active in the scene and was member of the iPhone Dev Team, so that should be reason enough to include him. I only know part of his exclusion story, but I think he still belongs into this category. -- http 10:52, 15 July 2010 (UTC)
Included all team members
I just included all members and ex-members of the iPhone Dev Team and Chronic Dev. I think they are worth being mentioned here. If you think some do not belong in here, feel free to remove their Category tag. But better first discuss here, to make sure all agree with it. -- http 22:06, 22 July 2010 (UTC)
Pangu team members
as releasers of the first public untethered iOS 7.1 jailbreak, i think Pangu team members should get pages here. i know Twitter user @windknown is one of the primary ones. thoughts? beej (talk) 15:19, 25 June 2014 (UTC)
